Henrik Denerin is enjoying a prolific career and is internationally active, primarily as a composer but also as improvising performer. As a composer he has collaborated with many internationally leading performers and ensembles.

Over the years his music has been performed in Europe, Asia and America by ensembles, orchestras and musicians such as Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble Aleph, Odysseia Ensemble, Curious Chamber Players, Vertixe Sonora Ensemble, mise-en ensemble, Ensemble Hakata, Bit20 Ensemble, Alice Purton(distractfold Ensemble), Florentin Ginot (MusikFabrik), Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Moritz Müllenbach, Kazuko Ihara, Matt Barbier, Alessandra Rombolà, Nuriá Andorrá, The Six Tones, Markus Falkbring, Musica Vitae String Orchestra, Karen Heath, Wrocławscy Kameraliści, Mirka Viitala among others.

As the Composer in Residence (2015-2017) with Odysseia Ensemble (Brussels) his work seals I for violin solo and ensemble saw its premiere in 2015 and more commissions and premiers is to come in 2016-17.

Henrik was Laurate at the 7th International Forum for Young Composers 2014 with Ensemble Aleph with the piece Das Ende eines Wintermärchens. The collaboration with Aleph is still ongoing with the recent premiere of monade (diskontinuerliche Endlichkeit) in Paris, 2016.

Henrik’s works has been programmed at international festivals for contemporary music including ISCM, Nordic Music days, Donauechingen, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Mixtur Festival, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Vertixe Vigo Festival, Festival d’Aujourd’hui à Demain and others. His music has been broadcasted on Sveriges Radio P2 (Swedish National Radio), RAI Radiotre, ABC (Australia), SWR, HR, Radio France, Swiss SRF 2 Kultur, YLE (Finland), VRT (Belgium national radio), Radio Catalunia and Radio Galicia (Spain) as well as Brazilian, Canadian and Siberian radio stations.

Henrik Denerin education includes a bachelor and a master degree in Composition with prof. Luca Francesconi, prof. Rolf Martinsson, Staffan Storm and Kent Olofsson at Malmö Academy of Music as well as studies with Karlheinz Stockhausen and workshops with Brian Ferneyhough, Mathias Sphalinger, Per Nørgård, Bent Sørensen and musicologist Richard Toop among others. 2007 he participated at Donaueschinger Musiktage in the student program “next generation”. Aside of composition he has also studied Mathematical Philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in München and Chinese language and philosophy. Henrik Denerin has received many grants and awards, e.g. Swedish Arts Grants Working, FST composer grant, The Royal Swedish Academy of Music International Grant, STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society) grant, Lund University grant (2006) and others. Henrik is a member of FST (Society of Swedish Composers) since 2011, member of the Swedish section of ISCM, voting member of STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society) and board member of Levande Musik in Gothenburg.
